The Harley Owners Group national organization has specified the duties and responsibilities of Road Captains. 

As a Route 66 HOG Chapter Road Captain, you may be asked to perform several responsibilities during a chapter ride. These duties include but are not limited to

• pre-ride briefings and inspections

• being assigned to lead a ride

• sweep a ride or any mid-sweep positions designated by the Head Road Captain
