Tulsa Motorcyclists To Come Together For
A "Freedom Ride"

On Sunday, October 14th, at 1:00 p.m. there will be a "Freedom Ride" to benefit the victims of the September 11th World Trade Center disaster. The proceeds from this ride will go to the families of police, firefighters and rescue workers who gave their lives trying to save others. There will be a minimum donation of $5 per person entry fee. For those who are unable to attend, donations are being accepted at area motorcycle dealerships.

The ride is open to all motorcycles and riders. Meet in the parking lot of the Neighborhood Financial Center at 21st & Sheridan in Tulsa; line up will begin at 11:00 a.m. The ride will end at Curly's, Brady & Elgin, in downtown.

Information regarding the parade route is being made available so interested citizens can line the route to show their support. The ride will leave the starting point, proceed north on Sheridan to 11th, west on 11th to Detroit, north on Detroit and end at the Brady Village area. Businesses in the Brady Village will provide live music after the ride ends; the general public is invited to attend.

The "Freedom Ride" is being organized by a coalition of motorcycle groups, dealers and other concerned individuals who are donating their time and effort to insure that this event is successful. The organizers have received promises of support from all over the northeastern Oklahoma area, and expect a large turnout. The Office of Tulsa Mayor Susan Savage has lent its support by proclaiming October 14, 2001 as Freedom Ride Day. Come out and show your support for the families of our fallen heroes who gave their lives so that others could live.
